A native of Charleston, West Virginia, where she served several terms as president of the Kanawha Valley Historical and Preservation Society, Alice received her bachelor of arts degree from Marshall University. After operating a successful telephone answering business, she opened Galley Designs LTD in 1978, one of the few kitchen and bath design firms owned by sole female proprietors at that time in the United States.
After years of special training and experience, Alice was designated a Certified Master Kitchen & Bathroom Designer by the National Kitchen and Bath Association, making her only the second person in Florida to achieve that title.
For a decade, Alice was an award-winning consultant with Ferguson Enterprises, the nation's largest supplier of decorative plumbing and hardware, for whom she managed showrooms in several states. In more recent years, she was affiliated with Village Kitchen and Bath Gallery in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, whose showroom she designed. She has kitchen and bath showrooms in West Virginia and Maryland.
Alice is known for her kitchen and bath designs from Colorado to Chicago and New York, from North Carolina to Florida and the Bahamas. Especially noteworthy was her design of the Cajun Chef Justin Wilson's Louisiana kitchen, which was featured on his televised cooking shows. Her designs have also been published in several magazines, such as Water's Edge, 2nd Home Journal and Design/Build and was featured on the cover of Women's Digest. An Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers, her kitchens have been featured in fine designer showhouses including the Stetson Mansion in Deland, Florida.
With the opening of her studio in Jacksonville Beach and her "in-town" showroom located at Apex Supply, Alice intends to utilize her years of expertise to create customized kitchens, baths, entertainment centers, closet systems, and summer kitchens - whether a slight makeover or new construction from the ground up - that will uniquely reflect the individual homeowner's personality.
Alice is married to Sam McCoy, and she has a grown son and daughter and five beautiful grandchildren, as well as a very spoiled toy poodle named Alicia and a traveling cat named Samantha.
